This walk of a little more than 27km takes you to discover the villages surrounding the resort of Crans-Montana, starting from the town of Sierre at 500m altitude to arrive at the resort of Crans-Montana at 1500m and finally descend by the new track at Tovachir. Panoramic view guaranteed!

Description

Your cultural discovery of typical villages in the Haut-Plateau region starts in the valley, in the town of Sierre. You’ll then head to the village of Loc, via pretty minor roads.

From here, a rise of no less than 18km awaits you, exploring the villages of Chermignon-d’en-Bas, Lens and Icogne on the way. Take your time and enjoy a stop in a village café or on the banks of the lakes to admire the wonderful panoramic views, and to recharge your batteries! Just a few more bends and you’ll reach the highest point of this uphill ride: the resort of Crans-Montana, at 1,500m. 

 

A section on forest paths will lead you to Montana-Village, to finally return to Loc and Sierre.

Public transport

Arrive in Sierre by train from all Swiss towns and cities (SBB) or by the regional trains running on the Simplon line between Brig and St. Gingolph.

Approach

From the A9 motorway from Lausanne or Sierre, take the Sierre Est (from Brig) or Sierre Ouest (from Lausanne) exit and access to the city center.
