Escape… and set off to discover the natural wealth of Crans-Montana, as you head up towards the Tièche Valley. Although a few sections are technical, this route is still accessible to everyone, as it is mostly on wide unsurfaced mountain tracks. The wonderful panoramic views and unspoiled nature in the Aminona region are without a doubt the highlights of this excursion. Several refreshment possibilities offer a place to eat and charge your e-bike on the way.

Turn-by-turn directions

From the centre of Montana, the route takes you in the direction of Les Barzettes, then takes the road to Plumachit in the direction of the Hameau de Colombire. You will then leave the asphalt road to take the direction of the Cave Du Sex. 200m before the Cave du Scex, the path leaves on the left and you enter the wild Vallée de la Tièche. After a loop along this magnificent river, the route returns towards the mountain to Prabaron, the Toula area, then offers a stop at the Cabane des Violettes, the highest point of this excursion. The descent follows, through the Cabane de Bois, Nationale, Marolires and Arnouva, to finally reach the lake of Chermignon and return to the resort through the centre of Crans.

The resort of Crans-Montana is easily accessible from Sierre station with the SMC bus company and from Sion station with the bus company CarPostal.

The free shuttle buses of the SMC bus company serve the whole resort of Crans-Montana. The nearest stop to the start of this hike is: Ycoor

Approach

To reach Crans-Montana by car, take the exit of the A9 motorway (Rhône motorway) called "Sierre ouest". At the motorway exit, turn left and follow the signs for "Sierre". At the roundabout, turn right. Continue for 500 metres, then at the entrance to Sierre, turn left following the signs for "Crans-Montana". The journey takes about 20 minutes.
