Description

Starting in Aproz, the route first heads towards the village of Fey. Your efforts begin in earnest once you leave the village, with a short but relatively steep climb to the main road passing through the village of Basse-Nendaz, where you turn onto the little-used Saclentse road. Up until this point, the route is identical to the one leading to the Col de la Croix-de-Cœur. As soon as you reach the Route de Siviez, high above Nendaz near Bleusy, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mont Fort and Mont Gelée at the far end of the Val de Nendaz. Continue in the direction of Siviez on a steady slope, with the wall of the imposing Cleuson dam gradually coming into view before you reach your destination near the ski lifts of the 4 Vallées ski area.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Aproz, follow the road that leads to the village of Fey and continue until you reach Basse-Nendaz, where the route forks to the right. Follow this path for 1.7 kilometres before turning left and continuing on a narrow road that follows a little-used stretch of route via Saclentse. Up until this point, the route is identical to the one leading to the Col de la Croix-de-Cœur. Turn left and continue for a little over five kilometres along the Route de Siviez until you reach the foot of the ski lifts. There is a finishing post at the edge of the big car park where you can take a photo to immortalise your climb.
