Thanks to more than 100 cableways (cable cars, chairlifts and funiculars) and countless bus and train routes, cyclists and mountain bikers have an infinite choice of possibilities for planning their outings and accessing the most beautiful spots in Valais.

Bus routes and Resabike platform

For travelling around the side valleys of Valais with your bike, simply use local bus services that offer bike transport. During the summer season, from mid-May to mid-October, more than 55 bus routes offer riders the opportunity to travel with their bikes. These buses are equipped with bike racks or trailers. Limited bicycle transportation. Reservations on resabike.ch are recommended.

Cable cars & chairlifts

Access the mountain summits easily thanks to the many cableways in Valais that operate also in summer. In all, riders can take their bikes on more than 100 cable cars, chairlifts and funiculars. Ideal for those who prefer descents to climbs and for all who wish to access the high-altitude trails.

Bike tickets and day passes from SBB

SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) offers day passes for bike transport as well as short-distance bike tickets. These are valid for travel on the SBB network, private railways, PostBuses and with many transport companies. The Day Bike Pass is more suitable for longer trips – and allows holders unlimited travel throughout Valais for the whole day.

Guest cards issued by resorts

Certain resorts and holiday regions in Valais offer guest cards that include bike transport or provide a reduction on transport on cable cars, chairlifts and funiculars. Here are the special passes issued by resorts that allow you to travel free of charge, or at a reduced rate, with your bike:

Bikepass Oberwallis (Upper Valais mountain biking pass)

Five destinations in Upper Valais are offering a mountain bike pass that allows mountain bikers to use their lifts freely during the summer season. The Oberwallis Bikepass includes all the lifts in Aletsch Arena, Belalp, Bellwald, Hohsaas and Grächen. It's a guaranteed easy, comfortable way to discover the many mountain bike trails, with no extra planning or ticket purchase required. The Oberwallis Bikepass is available from participating mountain railways for CHF 570 for adults, CHF 445 for young people and CHF 320 for children.
